Head of Crewing

Our client is seeking a Head of Crewing to play a pivotal role in building and maintaining strong client relationships, overseeing the onboarding process, and ensuring exceptional service delivery. The Head of Crewing will lead the day-to-day administration of crew employment and payroll functions, while supporting, coaching, and training the team. This full-time role also involves representing the company at industry events, preparing business proposals, and providing support to the local Director during periods of absence. Job Duties:

  • Guide new clients through the onboarding process, ensuring smooth transitions
  • Assist the Contracts Team with client due diligence and review of service agreements
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction
  • Promote long-lasting relationships between clients and the team
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve client issues and enhance overall client experience
  • Ensure clear communication with clients about updates and new offerings
  • Supervise crewing team administrators and provide in-house training
  • Keep internal procedures, policies, and crew document templates up to date
  • Liaise with clients and captains on crewing matters beyond the Assistant Managers' or Administrators' responsibility
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and yacht shows
  • Assist with the preparation and presentation of new business proposals
  • Oversee the administration of crew employment and payroll tasks
  • Keep up to date with industry changes and report to the management team when necessary
  • Assist with internal procedures manual updates and quality monitoring
  • Provide coaching and support to junior team members
  • Attend management team meetings in the absence of the local Director
  • Perform any other duties reasonably required

 

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to confidently liaise with senior management
  • Capable of handling HR-related matters with compassion
  • Systematic approach to work and attention to detail
  • Flexible and able to multitask
  • High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Cello Marine payroll software
  • A minimum of 5 years’ managerial experience
  • Strong understanding of international and national seafarer certification regulations
  • Excellent knowledge of seafarer employment law
  • Deep understanding of the services offered by the group
