Our client is seeking a Director, Head of Funds to provide active leadership within their Private Capital Client Delivery Team, with a special focus on Mezzanine funds. This role involves managing and driving Client Delivery across the Mezzanine Funds strategy to clients within the Alternatives Segment in the Channel Islands. The successful candidate will work closely with the Strategic Transition team alongside Operational Support, Corporate Services, and Banking teams for both new and existing business. Job Duties:
- Manage the Client Delivery team responsible for the day-to-day production of new and existing client business (Fund Accounting, Fund Administration).
- Ensure clients' regulated and unregulated structures remain compliant with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, fund prospectus, structuring, and applicable accounting and administration standards.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting and administration of clients' funds in line with agreed SLAs and contractual terms, revising these as clients' needs evolve.
- Deliver consistently high-quality production in a timely manner within a managed risk framework.
- Maintain active communication and direct client engagement on the production of accounting and administrative deliverables.
- Implement and validate all relevant controls, checklists, and workflows to support production requirements.
- Ensure fees and billing align with client tariffs and are processed promptly according to client collection terms.
- Develop significant knowledge of operational capabilities of platforms.
- Review profitability, costs, and resource allocation with senior management to accurately reflect work undertaken across client funds.
- Optimise service delivery in collaboration with local and global teams.
- Support the development of a target operating model while managing operational risk related to clients' production requirements.
- Liaise with clients, sales, client line, and strategic transitions teams to develop profitable, efficient, and client-aligned solutions.
- Collaborate with legal and control teams to develop appropriate contractual documentation and SLAs.
- Engage with stakeholders including fund sponsors, auditors, board directors, trustees, and regulators in the management of client funds.
- Act as an alternate to the Head of Private Capital Client Delivery for governance meetings when required.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent management and team-building skills, demonstrating strong leadership.
- Extensive practical experience with Alternative Fund Structures (Private Equity, Debt, Infrastructure, Real Estate, etc.).
- Strong accounting skills and understanding of financial reporting standards (IFRS, UK, US, and other GAAP).
- In-depth knowledge of various Private Capital structures, along with their administration and accounting.
- Knowledge of valuation of complex financial instruments and understanding the economics behind such transactions.
- Familiarity with banking operating platforms for accounting and administration (FIA/MFFA).
- Knowledge of industry standards (e.g. IPEV, BVCA, ILPA) and interest in developing these standards.
- Ability to translate structuring documentation into an operational model and articulate operational requirements into a strategic plan.
