Our client is seeking an experienced Client Accounting Assistant Manager to join their team on a temporary, nine-month contract. This role is positioned within the accounts team, where you will oversee and support junior staff, ensure the accuracy and quality of accounting records, and contribute to a range of accounting tasks in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Job Duties:
- Review the work prepared by junior team members, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date documentation.
- Prepare trust and company accounts to a high standard, producing adequate working papers with supporting documentation.
- Analyse and interpret accounts, making corrections and updates as needed following the review process.
- Address queries and manage follow-up administrative actions during and after account completion.
- Assist with team administration, helping to schedule work for maximum cost-effectiveness.
- Manage staff performance by setting clear objectives, coaching, and providing regular feedback aligned with development needs.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members and administrative staff, working within deadlines.
- Provide support and training within the team on accounts preparation.
- Assist in developing new procedures to automate accounts preparation and bookkeeping in coordination with the Transformation team.
- Delegate workloads and update the client accounting list regularly.
- Undertake other relevant duties as requested.
Job Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA qualification (or equivalent) or extensive experience in a senior client accounting role.
- Strong accounting and technical expertise.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Proactive, professional approach with a commitment to best practices.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative, and prioritise tasks effectively.
