Our client is seeking a Payroll and Finance Clerk to join their Finance Department in Guernsey. This full-time role supports the Payroll, Payables, and Revenue Finance Officers in maintaining accurate and verifiable payroll, financial, and management accounting records. Job Duties:
- Input payroll data and employee information into payroll systems in a timely manner.
- Assist in reconciling payroll data to final payroll amounts.
- Reconcile passenger service system data to core ledgers and banking systems.
- Process sales invoices for client accounts and record them in accounting software.
- Reconcile accounts in financial systems as directed.
- Process revenue-related refunds and customer claims.
- Respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain process documentation to strengthen internal controls.
- Provide required audit information to support financial reporting.
- Support the senior finance team with additional duties as needed.
- Ensure accurate processing and reconciliation of payroll and revenue activities.
- Present payroll and reconciliations for review and process any adjustments as required.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes for improved efficiency.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in payroll or bookkeeping roles.
- Proficient in SAGE 200 or similar accounting software.
- Familiarity with VRS ticketing systems is an advantage.
- Competency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Well-organised with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work proactively and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexible approach to working hours when necessary.
- Experience in the aviation sector or high-volume environments.
- Background in receivables within a finance function.
- Understanding of airline business and accounting requirements.
- Knowledge of the Channel Islands economy.
- Bookkeeping or accounting-related qualification preferred.
- Education equivalent to Level 2 or 3 (GCSE/BTEC/A Level or similar).
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Verifiable five-year work history for airside work and GSAT security training.
- Current police check required.
