Our client is seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their Finance team. This full-time role involves 35 hours per week and requires a detail-oriented professional to ensure the accurate preparation, loading, and reconciliation of invoices and payments within the supplier ledger. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, resolving supplier discrepancies, and assisting with various finance-related tasks.
Job Duties:
- Import fuel and non-fuel invoices and credit notes accurately into the Purchase Ledger using Sage 50 or NetSuite.
- Reconcile supplier accounts with statements and payments on a rolling monthly or quarterly basis.
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve discrepancies and ensure all invoices are received.
- Allocate payments correctly and conduct monthly payment runs.
- Assist with month-end processes and reconciliations.
- Process employee expenses in line with company policy, ensuring timely reimbursements.
- Undertake ad-hoc tasks within the department as required.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Finance Manager or Group Financial Controller.
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger role.
- Proven ability to handle high-volume processing efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the initiative to resolve queries promptly.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all financial matters.
- Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Intermediate Excel skills and experience with accounts packages, ideally Sage or NetSuite.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
