Our client is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join the Operations Team on a permanent, full-time basis in Guernsey. This role will provide administrative and operational support to the Crisis Management Business Unit, which includes products such as Kidnap and Ransom, Marine Piracy, Security Incident Response, and Fine Art. The successful candidate will benefit from a structured eight-week onboarding programme, with opportunities for professional qualifications and career progression.
Job Duties:
- Provide high-quality service and operational support to underwriting teams and brokers
- Prepare policy documentation and input data for internal and external clients within established service standards
- Maintain document templates and manage template change requests
- Support the embedding of regulatory controls and assist with producing related reporting
- Develop strong knowledge of specific product lines, associated systems, and processes
- Champion operational best practice and identify opportunities for process and service improvement
- Ensure adherence to operational procedures and support ad hoc projects as required by the Team Leader
Job Requirements:
- Strong academic background (A-levels or equivalent)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with excellent analytical and organisational skills
- Professional approach with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Detail-oriented, with a commitment to delivering high standards of service
- Flexible and proactive team player with a willingness to learn and adapt
- Ability to work well under pressure and demonstrate initiative
- Spanish language skills
- Experience in an operational or administrative role
- Knowledge of insurance products
