Private Client Director

Our client is seeking a Private Client Services Director to oversee the effective management of a client-handling team within the Private Client department. This role reports to the Senior Director / Deputy Head of Private Client Services in Jersey and is responsible for ensuring the team provides a professional and comprehensive administration service to both existing and prospective clients. The position involves strategic planning, team management, and the delivery of operational, financial, and business objectives.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee the management of a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring appropriate allocation within the team and maintaining quality and accuracy in administration.
  • Take joint responsibility for the success of the business, proactively directing the administration and workloads to meet client needs.
  • Deliver on integrated initiatives to promote optimum operational, financial, and business performance.
  • Manage team performance against targets and budgets, ensuring budgetary and performance goals are met, including KPIs for financial, management, and risk metrics.
  • Analyse team performance and incorporate insights into the planning of strategies, resources, and procedures.
  • Attend divisional and director meetings, contributing to discussions and strategic decisions.
  • Fulfil the function of “Client Director” or “Senior Client Director” for appropriate client entities.
  • Ensure corporate governance in line with regulatory requirements and the Group’s long-term business plan.
  • Lead and attend client meetings, liaising with professional advisers to deliver proficient and value-added service.
  • Develop and maintain long-term client relationships, working closely with clients, advisers, and intermediaries.
  • Manage and accurately price new business enquiries, ensuring full explanation of resources and services provided by the Group.
  • Actively participate in internal business development meetings and identify new business opportunities.
  • Provide oversight on the complex aspects of client portfolios and maintain close working relationships with other divisions and teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Risk & Compliance procedures, including regulatory and AML obligations.
  • Manage risks associated with your client portfolio and guide the immediate team on reporting unusual transactions.
  • Act as an “A” signatory (subject to approval by the Board and Committee).
  • Coach and mentor the immediate team, ensuring professional development and adherence to CPD requirements.
  • Adhere to the JTC core values and guiding principles.

Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in a similar role, holding a relevant Professional (Cat A) Qualification.
  • Extensive experience in UHNW client relationships.
  • Strong management and leadership skills, with a willingness to share knowledge and expertise with the team.
  • Experience at Director level with complex Trust and Company Structures.
