Our client is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to join their team in Malta. This role is responsible for maintaining accounting records and assisting with the preparation of trust and company financial statements and management accounts. The ideal candidate will have relevant bookkeeping and accounting experience, with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Job Duties:
- Maintain the general ledger and prepare management accounts.
- Post cash and journals in the nominal ledgers.
- Prepare loan interest calculations and reconcile bank and loan accounts.
- Reconcile bank and other ledger balances.
- Calculate and accrue company expenses.
- Assist with the compilation of management accounts.
- Support the preparation of annual financial statements.
- Transfer trial balance information into the financial statements template.
- Prepare trust and company accounts in accordance with applicable legislation.
- Compile associated working papers and evidence balances to financial statements.
- Assist with auditors’ queries.
- Undertake the annual review process of entities for which accounts have been prepared.
- Liaise with other departments as required.
- Assist with other duties as requested.
Job Requirements:
- ‘A’ Levels with accounting subjects and relevant bookkeeping/accounting experience.
- Good communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of financial statement preparation.
- Positive, proactive approach with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with moderate supervision.
