Compliance Manager

Our client is seeking a Compliance Manager to support the Group CCO and Jersey Head of Compliance in managing regulatory risk across the organisation. This role will focus on ensuring compliance within the Jersey-based Fund Services and Trust Company businesses, overseeing compliance monitoring, regulatory adherence, and reporting to senior stakeholders. The successful candidate will work closely with senior managers across the group, providing expertise on regulatory changes and maintaining robust compliance frameworks.

Job Duties:

  • Promote a dynamic compliance and risk culture across the organisation.
  • Report directly to the Jersey Head of Compliance.
  • Coordinate compliance projects, including the review and implementation of new regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices for Jersey-based Fund Services, Trust Company, and Alternative Investment Fund Service businesses.
  • Maintain and review compliance and AML systems and controls, including CDD records.
  • Support policy and procedure updates to align with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in training on AML, client due diligence, and compliance procedures.
  • Conduct periodic compliance monitoring and client/entity reviews.
  • Oversee entity and client monitoring for FATCA and CRS reporting.
  • Prepare reports for local Audit and Risk Committees and Boards.
  • Support and advise on regulatory changes affecting funds under management and the wider organisation.
  • Manage the investment breaches and operational risk events log.
  • Review marketing and regulatory notifications.
  • Liaise with external experts on regulatory developments as needed.
  • Advise senior management and staff on compliance-related issues.
  • Provide compliance training across the group.
  • Assist with data protection compliance and maintenance of regulatory registers.
  • Undertake screening and review of compliance results.
  • Support group compliance initiatives as directed by the Group CCO.
  • Perform other compliance-related tasks as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in a senior compliance role, ideally within asset management or the funds industry.
  • Strong knowledge of AML, CDD, and KYC procedures.
  • Proactive and self-motivated approach to compliance management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to identify and escalate material compliance issues.
  • Strong report-writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic and willing to continuously develop knowledge in compliance and regulatory matters.
