Our client has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Café Assistant to join their team on a part-time, permanent basis. This role is a key part of the café team, ensuring excellent customer service and assisting with the efficient operation of the café and snack bar. Responsibilities include managing stock, adhering to food safety regulations, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
Job Duties:
- Ensuring a high standard of customer service at all times
- Engaging with customers and handling transactions accurately
- Assisting in the promotion of the café via social media
- Managing stock, including receiving deliveries, monitoring stock levels, and carrying out inventories
- Handling cash transactions and ensuring tills are properly closed and balanced
- Ordering and managing various product categories, including beverages, confectionery, fragrances, and more
- Monitoring food items and ensuring adherence to stock rotation and sell-by dates
- Reporting any faults with equipment and materials
- Complying with food safety legislation, procedures, and standards
- Ensuring food and hot drinks are presented to a high standard
- Maintaining cleanliness and following all Health & Safety procedures
- Completing administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner
Job Requirements:
- Experience in sales or the food and beverage sector (preferred)
- Food hygiene qualification (desirable)
- Ability to work early shifts aligned with departure times
- Reside within a commutable distance of Guernsey or be willing to relocate
- Positive attitude with strong communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team
