IT Developer

Our client is seeking a Junior back-end developer to join their dynamic team. This role will involve providing 1st line support to the senior developers managing the in-house billing system. You will be the first point of contact for billing queries from the finance, customer services, and IT support teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in PHP, including knowledge of legacy versions such as PHP 5.6, and will be able to write SQL queries to analyse data and identify errors or potential causes of issues.

Job Duties:

  • Provide 1st line support for the internal billing team, addressing queries or logging issues for investigation or escalation to senior team members.
  • Investigate issues with data and remedy or escalate accordingly.
  • Design and implement simple tools within the portals to enable departments like IT Ops or Finance to resolve recurring issues independently.
  • Suggest improvements to processes or systems.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in PHP (v5.6, 7+).
  • Proficient in writing SQL queries for data analysis.
  • Knowledge of the CodeIgniter 3 framework.
  • Experience with Git version control.
  • Understanding of both object-oriented and functional programming concepts.
  • Proven experience as a back-end developer with at least 2 years of commercial experience.
  • Ability to analyse data and identify causes of issues.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with different teams.
