Temporary Finance Administrator / Senior Administrator - 6 months

Our client is seeking a Finance Administrator/Senior Administrator for a 6-month contract to support the Finance team in managing day-to-day financial transactions. This role involves handling accounts payable, reconciliations, billing, and general operational finance tasks within a professional services environment. It offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic finance function while ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with internal procedures.

Job Duties:

  • Upload and reconcile bank statements in the practice management system.
  • Process supplier invoices and staff expenses, preparing BACS payments.
  • Enter electronic payments for authorisation on banking portals.
  • Prepare and distribute cheques for signature.
  • Assist with invoice preparation and respond to billing queries.
  • Maintain accurate financial records within the practice management system.
  • Support billing runs, including raising invoices and proformas.
  • Generate WIP and debtor reports as required.
  • Reconcile corporate credit card transactions against statements and receipts.
  • Assist with property transaction considerations and financial reporting.
  • Provide cover for other Finance team members during absences.
  • Support finance-related projects and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with finance procedures and update them when necessary.
  • Handle general administrative tasks, including scanning, filing, and document collection.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of three years' experience in a similar finance role, ideally within a professional services firm.
  • Strong IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Experience with Aderant is beneficial but not essential.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to work.
  • Commitment to compliance with financial regulations, including anti-money laundering procedures.
