Technical Vendor Manager

Our client is seeking a Technical Vendor Manager to join their IT Service function on a permanent, full-time basis. This role is responsible for managing relationships with third-party technical vendors across multiple brands and teams. The Technical Vendor Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring vendor compliance with group policies, service levels, and contractual obligations. You will also support procurement governance, supplier categorisation, and the delivery of key operational and risk management processes. This position requires strong cross-functional collaboration and a proactive approach to vendor oversight and performance.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee vendor relationships to ensure adherence to group policies, contractual obligations, and service performance standards
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders across the business on managing suppliers and ensuring best practices are followed
  • Manage exceptions to group policy using risk management processes in collaboration with other internal teams
  • Support supplier onboarding, ensuring compliance with procurement and risk frameworks
  • Conduct segmentation reviews and annual refreshes of supplier categorisation and risk positions
  • Perform regular supplier performance reviews and maintain governance documentation
  • Support tracking of spend in collaboration with the FinOps and procurement teams
  • Raise and manage risks using internal processes and tooling
  • Engage with vendors during major incidents, failed changes, or other urgent priorities
  • Ensure vendors participate in reviews following major incidents or failed changes
  • Manage special measures or service improvement plans for underperforming vendors
  • Analyse data and trends with the reporting analyst to support vendor performance and reporting
  • Collaborate across business functions to ensure integration with service management, risk, legal, HR, compliance, and security processes
  • Provide holiday cover for the Procurement Lead and IT Contract & Procurement Specialist
  • Maintain situational awareness of business services, supporting technologies, and vendor alternatives
  • Keep informed of industry developments, incidents, and risks relating to current and potential vendors
  • Demonstrate collaborative working and uphold company values across geographies and technical functions

Job Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of procurement and supply chain management practices
  • Experience in a vendor or relationship management role, preferably within financial services
  • Strong experience with Office 365 collaboration tools
  • Analytical mindset with consistent and disciplined problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with stakeholders of varying seniority across diverse geographical locations
  • Familiarity with outsourced IT landscapes and organisations undergoing transformation (desirable)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to workload and stakeholder management
  • Line management experience beneficial but not essential (coaching will be provided if required)
  • Ability to maintain focus and accuracy under pressure
