Our client is seeking an experienced Enterprise Test Manager to join their organisation on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is pivotal in driving the enterprise-wide testing strategy, frameworks and practices across both strategic project and business-as-usual initiatives. Reporting to the Head of IT Delivery, you will lead the transformation of testing capabilities, with a focus on automation, efficiency and alignment to business goals. The position offers the opportunity to shape and embed quality assurance across the software delivery lifecycle while championing an automation-first, shift-left approach to testing.
Job Duties:
- Define and implement an enterprise test strategy that aligns with transformation roadmaps and business objectives
- Establish scalable and repeatable test frameworks across the group, covering functional, non-functional, and automated testing
- Lead the delivery and adoption of Azure DevOps for end-to-end test lifecycle management
- Introduce modern testing methodologies including shift-left, risk-based, exploratory testing, and automation
- Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering teams to embed testing into CI/CD pipelines and integrate quality gates
- Perform a critical review of current testing practices, team capabilities, and tools to identify and implement improvements
- Partner with product owners, technology leads and senior business stakeholders to promote confidence in testing outcomes
- Ensure testing standards, documentation and metrics are consistent across project and BAU activity
- Drive process optimisation including requirements traceability, demand and capacity management, and seamless operational handover
- Coach, inspire and lead a team of manual and automation testers, promoting a high-performance, learning-focused culture
- Establish a Testing Community of Practice to encourage innovation, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in transforming and leading testing functions within mid-to-large organisations, ideally within insurance or regulated industries
- Strong knowledge of testing in Agile and DevOps environments
- Deep understanding of test frameworks, quality governance, and process optimisation
- Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional and geographically distributed testing teams
- Experience with regulatory and compliance requirements in financial services
- Practical experience rolling out Azure DevOps for test management (desirable)
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at executive level
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving and ability to translate technical detail into business value
- Self-motivated, proactive and capable of working on own initiative
