Temporary Finance Reporting Analyst - 12 - 14 months

Our client is seeking a Reporting Analyst to join their Finance and Value Management function on a temporary, full-time basis for a period of 12 to 14 months. This role focuses on the production of regular financial reporting and analytics to support Financial Insights Leads, the Head of Reporting & Control, and wider business units in achieving strategic objectives. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality profit and loss and balance sheet reporting across various dimensions, including Business Unit, Client, Sector, Region, and Legal Entity. This position requires strong analytical capabilities, technical expertise, and attention to detail to ensure robust financial insight and accuracy.

Job Duties:

  • Prepare high-quality regular financial reports with supporting commentary in line with agreed formats and deadlines
  • Conduct analytical reviews of financial data to predetermined materiality thresholds and highlight variances against budgets, plans, and forecasts
  • Develop insightful commentary that aligns with actual reported data to enhance credibility and decision-making
  • Engage regularly with Reporting & Control Managers to identify areas requiring deeper insight or analysis
  • Use standardised templates and materiality thresholds in reporting processes to ensure consistency and clarity
  • Aggregate and reconcile data from multiple systems to produce accurate intra-month and monthly reporting on performance, cost, balance sheet, revenue, and capital
  • Focus on reporting processes related to cost allocation, balance sheet, capital, client revenue, and intercompany eliminations
  • Prepare and run Transfer Pricing models, journals, and reports, and manage related eliminations
  • Perform accurate data extraction and storage, highlighting any deficiencies in data or reporting templates
  • Address irregularities identified through audits or risk monitoring to ensure compliance with internal controls and standards
  • Produce reports and insights that can be tailored to create a consolidated Corporate and Investment Banking view
  • Collaborate with various finance teams and product control to gather data and clarify unexpected variances

Job Requirements:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in financial/statutory reporting and analytics within the banking or similar industry
  • Proven experience in developing commentary that supports high-impact business decisions
  • Strong understanding of accounting requirements across cost, revenue, balance sheet, and liquidity functions
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy in data handling and reporting
  • Proficient in managing tasks systematically and meeting strict reporting deadlines
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to clearly express analytical findings
  • Ability to interpret financial statements and execute ratio analysis
  • Experienced in reconciling financial data across systems and ensuring data quality
  • Technologically proficient, especially in data evaluation and business reporting tools
  • High ethical standards, confidentiality, and integrity in handling sensitive financial data
