Our client is seeking a Trust Accountant to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role will be dedicated to one client, focusing on the preparation of financial statements, bookkeeping, and account reconciliation for Guernsey-based entities. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and will work closely with administration teams and external data providers.
Job Duties:
- Prepare financial statements in line with UK FRS accounting standards
- Monitor bookkeeping activities for client entities and provide support where necessary
- Design and implement procedures to enhance bookkeeping and accounts preparation efficiency
- Liaise with external providers of accounting data
- Communicate regularly with the manager to provide updates on the financial statement status
- Complete ad-hoc projects and respond to information requests as required
- Record time accurately in the firm’s system
- Provide sickness and absence cover within the team as needed
- Take on new tasks as capacity allows and as directed by the manager
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in trust bookkeeping or accounting
- Relevant accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CAT, or AAT) is desirable but not essential
- Previous experience using 5 Series is desirable
- Strong IT skills and excellent organisational ability
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
