Operations Assistant Manager

Our client is seeking a full-time Operations Assistant Manager to join their Guernsey office. This is a permanent position supporting core operational functions, ensuring the effective delivery of business-as-usual activities while contributing to strategic projects. The role will involve working across IT, information security, data protection, and operational reporting, helping to maintain a high standard of service within a regulated environment.

Job Duties:

  • Lead and contribute to the delivery of multiple concurrent operational projects, overseeing timelines and stakeholder coordination
  • Act as the main contact for the outsourced IT provider for BAU operations (excluding helpdesk tasks but providing oversight and cover when needed)
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the firm’s information security strategy, working with the Operations management team and vCISO
  • Assist the Data Protection Representative in maintaining data protection compliance and managing associated policies and procedures
  • Review and develop operational policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards
  • Provide general operational and office support to maintain smooth daily business activities
  • Prepare and manage operational reporting and management information, including quarterly reports for the Board and other senior stakeholders

Job Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in an operations or consulting role within the financial services industry
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and analytical mindset
  • Ability to manage workloads independently and prioritise effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organisation
  • Highly organised and adaptable, able to handle shifting priorities and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Comfortable with systems such as Acumen, Microsoft 365, Investran, and document management platforms, or able to learn them quickly
  • Understanding of GFSC requirements and Guernsey regulatory frameworks, including anti-money laundering, information security, and data protection
  • Experience managing people and contributing to team leadership
