Our client is seeking a Head of Finance Operations to lead financial operations across multiple jurisdictions, including Jersey, Guernsey, Hong Kong, London, Luxembourg and Mauritius. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering the chance to work closely with the CFO and Head of Finance as part of the Finance Leadership team. The successful candidate will oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and cash management, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of high-quality financial support.
Job Duties:
- Lead the finance operations team across multiple jurisdictions, covering AP, AR, billing, and cash management
- Mentor and support the development of financial operations professionals, empowering local leadership
- Drive process improvement, efficiency, and best practice through technology and system upgrades
- Oversee accurate and timely financial transactions in accordance with firm policies and controls
- Ensure compliance with client money handling and regulatory requirements across all locations
- Implement and manage efficient billing practices and cash collections, reducing lock-up and optimising working capital
- Monitor daily cash positions and manage liquidity needs across the group
- Develop treasury practices in collaboration with the Head of Finance
- Ensure strong internal controls and collaborate with external auditors
- Lead efforts to enhance the performance culture within the operations team and group finance
Job Requirements:
- Extensive experience in a senior financial operations role within a law firm or professional services environment
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification beneficial but not essential with strong relevant experience
- Proven experience overseeing AP/AR, billing, collections, and cash management
- Strong process improvement skills and understanding of internal controls
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements relating to client money and financial transactions
- Experience with legal or professional services finance systems (Elite or ViewPoint desirable)
- Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team development capabilities
- Strong planning, organisation, and communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
