Head of Financial Control, Planning & Analysis

Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Financial Control, Planning & Analysis to lead the group’s financial control, reporting, planning and analysis. This full-time, permanent role sits within the Finance Leadership team and is responsible for managing a high-performing team, ensuring robust financial reporting and controls, and driving strategic insights to support business decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a collaborative approach within a multi-jurisdictional, professional services environment.

Job Duties:

  • Lead financial control activities, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external standards (UK GAAP or IFRS)
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements and manage external audit processes
  • Maintain and enhance financial controls and cost allocation frameworks, including transfer pricing requirements
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes
  • Produce and review regular cash flow forecasts and working capital analysis
  • Provide actionable insights through detailed financial analysis, including KPIs, variance, and performance reporting
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align financial performance with strategic goals
  • Support business decisions with accurate financial data and scenario modelling
  • Ensure financial regulatory compliance and mitigate financial risk through effective internal controls
  • Ensure new services and jurisdictions are integrated into group reporting frameworks effectively
  • Drive continuous improvement of finance processes, systems, and reporting
  • Lead and develop a team of qualified professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration

Job Requirements:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, with a minimum of 12 years’ experience in a senior finance role
  • Experience within a law firm or trust and corporate services provider
  • Proven track record in financial control, reporting, budgeting, and analysis across multiple jurisdictions
  • Strong technical knowledge of financial standards and compliance requirements
  • Experience implementing and maintaining robust internal financial controls
  • Strong leadership skills with experience developing high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex financial information
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive mindset
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving business environment
