Trust Manager

Our client is seeking a Manager to take the lead on a key client relationship, which represents the largest client of the Guernsey office and one of the most significant across the group. This full-time role offers the opportunity to manage a highly transactional and fast-paced family office-style structure. You will also be responsible for the direct line management of selected team members, ensuring client service excellence and operational standards are maintained. The role involves promoting business objectives, delivering on risk and operational targets, and supporting staff development and performance.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee the service delivery to a key client relationship, maintaining high standards of client communication and engagement
  • Manage a dynamic client portfolio with timely and efficient delivery of commitments
  • Identify client needs and work to enhance client service levels and uncover new business opportunities
  • Meet personal and team performance targets for time recording, utilisation, and working capital
  • Monitor and control WIP and support prompt fee collection to enhance profitability
  • Provide leadership on operational risk, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements
  • Escalate and mitigate risks appropriately in line with internal policies
  • Contribute to strong governance and a positive relationship with the local regulator
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and constructive feedback to team members
  • Conduct performance appraisals and support individual development plans
  • Prioritise tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining professional standards under time pressure
  • Support senior management in project delivery and operational initiatives as required
  • Take a leading role in ad hoc business projects and corporate social responsibility initiatives

Job Requirements:

  • Significant experience working with high net worth clients and complex fiduciary structures
  • Strong understanding of current industry issues and regulatory obligations
  • Excellent client service delivery and technical knowledge
  • Prior managerial experience, including mentoring and performance management
  • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and deliver under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach
  • Self-motivated with the ability to exceed performance targets
  • Comfortable with leading difficult conversations and managing change
  • Relevant professional qualification such as STEP or ICSA (or equivalent)
  • Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent
