Our client is seeking an Automation Test Lead to join them on a permanent, full-time basis. Reporting to the Enterprise Test Manager, this role is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated testing frameworks across all application pathways to production. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to embed automated testing within the software development lifecycle, particularly focusing on CI/CD pipelines in Azure-hosted environments. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on test automation, ensuring robust quality assurance for front-end and back-end applications.
Job Duties:
- Design, develop and maintain scalable automated test scripts and frameworks using technologies such as Selenium
- Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and define automation strategies with full test coverage
- Manage and develop relevant test data sets, ensuring consistency and integrity for different test scenarios
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to streamline quality assurance in delivery processes
- Execute automated test scripts, analyse results, and report defects with detailed documentation for issue resolution
- Maintain effective testing controls and contribute to a strong control environment across IT delivery
- Define and report automation metrics and KPIs to track efficiency and test coverage
- Identify opportunities for automation improvements, process efficiencies, and adoption of emerging tools
- Provide guidance and mentoring to other testers and stakeholders to promote a strong quality culture
Job Requirements:
- Extensive experience in test automation across functional, integration, chain and unit testing
- Strong hands-on experience with frameworks and tools such as Rest-Assured, Cucumber, Selenium, Node.js, and Postman
- Skilled in developing test suites using modern programming languages such as Java, JavaScript or Python
- Experience working within Agile environments and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams
- Proven ability to define test coverage and create both manual and automated scripts
- Competent in building and managing pipelines in Azure DevOps or similar environments
- Sound knowledge of CI/CD and tooling such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, and GitHub
- Experience in the financial services or fintech sector is desirable
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical topics
- Proactive, self-motivated and capable of working independently
