Our client is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Fund Accountant to join their growing team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of real estate and private equity funds, providing accounting and financial reporting services. The successful candidate will play an integral part in maintaining high standards of client service, ensuring the timely delivery of accurate financial reports, and supporting junior team members through effective coaching and review.
Job Duties:
- Develop a strong understanding of internal policies and procedures
- Build a deep understanding of client structures, activities and agreements
- Foster and maintain strong client and external stakeholder relationships
- Monitor client communications and prioritise key tasks effectively
- Assist with the smooth onboarding of new business
- Support and coach junior team members, overseeing workload and performance
- Review and oversee financial reporting at asset and fund level
- Compile and analyse financial data to support accurate financial statements
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory deadlines
- Prepare and review management accounts, financial statements, and consolidations
- Deliver accurate reporting on NAVs, bank covenants, VAT, and cashflow forecasting
- Prepare investor capital account statements and fund-level reports
- Plan and manage year-end audits, liaising with auditors and other relevant parties
- Prepare and review drawdown and distribution calculations and notices
- Provide support across wider business areas within the client team
- Undertake any ad hoc duties as required
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in fund accounting or audit, focused on real estate or private equity funds
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS and other applicable accounting standards
- Part-qualified or fully qualified in ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Commercial and technically-minded with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high accuracy
