Our client is seeking an Assistant Manager to join their Private Capital Fund Accounting team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will support the delivery of fund valuation and accounting services across a range of private capital funds and vehicles, ensuring full compliance with all legal, regulatory, and accounting standards. Reporting to the Fund Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining service quality, meeting client deadlines, supporting onboarding processes, and managing operational procedures.
Job Duties:
- Support the Fund Accounting Manager in maintaining high levels of client communication and service
- Liaise with clients and manage expectations in line with agreed SLAs
- Assist in drafting SLAs and onboarding new business, including review of fund documentation
- Prepare, review and analyse financial statements under IFRS, UK GAAP and US GAAP
- Prepare and/or review monthly valuations, accruals, and reconciliations
- Review general ledger entries and ensure the accuracy of bookkeeping
- Assist with cash management and reconciliations
- Prepare and/or review drawdown, equalisation and distribution calculations
- Produce and review investor capital statements and IRR calculations
- Work with Investor Relations and Fund Administration teams to ensure timely reporting
- Attend client and audit meetings as required
- Liaise with internal and external auditors during audits
- Support the supervision, training and onboarding of junior team members
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and control frameworks
- Assist in reviewing and refining internal processes and procedures
- Contribute to group projects, including implementation of new systems or platforms
Job Requirements:
- Appropriate professional accountancy qualification
- Previous experience in fund accounting, with knowledge of equity, debt, and private capital funds
- Strong understanding of private capital structures (GP/LP/Feeder)
- Proficient in accounting standards (US GAAP, UK GAAP, IFRS)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Motivated, organised and eager to learn new systems and processes
- Understanding of Luxembourg GAAP (desirable)
- Awareness of private capital industry standards and regulations (desirable)
- Experience working in a multinational environment (desirable)
- Capable of working independently and meeting tight deadlines (desirable)
