Our client is seeking an Assistant Manager to oversee the administration of a portfolio of trust and corporate structures. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Guernsey, offering the opportunity to manage client relationships while supporting and supervising junior staff within the team.
Job Duties:
- Manage day-to-day administration of trust and corporate structures, including cash management, payments, exercising discretionary powers, maintaining records, and reviewing investment portfolios
- Record chargeable time accurately and ensure timely invoicing
- Monitor aged debtors and follow up on outstanding payments
- Act as primary and/or back-up relationship manager for designated clients
- Identify and pursue opportunities to develop client relationships
- Prepare for and attend client meetings, including post-meeting follow-ups
- Supervise junior team members where appropriate, including setting SMART objectives, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and delegating tasks
- Ensure completion of Review Action Points and diarise outstanding actions
- Maintain up-to-date client due diligence documentation
- Take responsibility for continuous professional development
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of four years’ experience in trust administration
- Near completion of a relevant professional qualification, such as STEP Foundation or ICSA certificate
- Strong knowledge of offshore trust and company administration practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Effective team player with flexibility to meet evolving business needs
- Highly organised, analytical, and detail-oriented
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to plan workloads, delegate effectively, and review work completed by junior administrators
- Familiarity with Guernsey’s regulatory environment
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to implement practical solutions
- Proactive approach with the ability to lead by example and encourage team collaboration
- Willingness to learn and support the development of others
