Senior IT Technician

Our client is seeking a Senior IT Technician to join them on a permanent, full-time basis. Reporting to the Senior Partner and working closely with an existing Senior IT Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and supporting the IT infrastructure across the organisation. This includes network operations, user support, virtualisation platforms, and compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 27001. This is a hands-on technical role suited to an experienced professional who enjoys a varied workload and staying current with industry developments.

Job Duties:

  • Respond to IT support requests via the helpdesk ticketing system
  • Set up and maintain user accounts and access
  • Provide hardware and software support within the office
  • Support and oversee the Net2Access Control software system
  • Monitor and maintain web access, email filtering, antivirus updates, and VPN services
  • Maintain and support server infrastructure, disaster recovery, and remote working solutions
  • Administer VMWare, Proxmox, KnowBe4 training, Bitdefender and similar systems
  • Ensure daily operations adhere to ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO 27001 Data Security standards
  • Maintain awareness of how IT processes impact ISO compliance requirements
  • Stay informed about developments in the IT industry
  • Follow all firm policies and procedures consistently

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an IT environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Active Directory
  • Experience with server configuration and administration
  • Proficiency in VMWare and Proxmox virtualisation platforms
  • Experience working with Exchange Server 2016 (and 2010)
  • Solid experience with Windows 10/11 and Linux
  • Desktop support experience, including Microsoft Teams
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office from 2016 onwards
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to support staff at all levels
  • Proactive approach with a keen interest in IT and new technologies
  • Professional and positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team
