IT Systems / Support Analyst

Our client is seeking a Systems / Support Analyst to join their IT function on a permanent basis. This role involves delivering user support, maintaining hardware, systems software, and applications, and supporting server and network infrastructure. You will also assist with Active Directory and Group Policy Management in line with best practices, participate in IT projects, and contribute to the daily operation and long-term improvement of the organisation’s IT environment.

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to users across all levels, maintaining hardware, systems software, and applications
  • Maintain and support the full IT infrastructure to ensure effective day-to-day operations
  • Administer Active Directory and Group Policies according to best practice
  • Participate in IT projects related to hardware, software, and business applications
  • Maintain accurate documentation including procedural records, asset registers, reports, and change logs
  • Manage the installation and configuration of client machine hardware and software
  • Perform software maintenance including updates and licence management
  • Carry out routine infrastructure maintenance to ensure reliability and performance
  • Maintain supplier relationships and liaise with external support agencies as required
  • Collaborate within the IT team to implement strategic IT improvements

Job Requirements:

  • Good working knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy Management
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows 10 or later administration
  • Experience with Windows Server 2019 or later in a Remote Desktop Services environment
  • Experience with patch management and end-user support for Office 365
  • Experience administering Microsoft Entra, Microsoft 365 in a hybrid environment, and Exchange Online
  • Knowledge of Mitel PABX administration
  • Working knowledge of Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) or similar technologies
  • Understanding of MS SQL Server, SharePoint, and Mimecast administration
  • Strong problem-solving and technical analysis skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a structured and proactive approach to work
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Minimum of A Levels with 6 years' relevant experience or an appropriate degree with 4 years' relevant experience
  • Possession of a relevant systems administration or networking certification
