Our client is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to join their Fund Accounting team on a full-time, permanent basis. Based in Jersey, this role focuses on delivering fund valuation and accounting services to private capital funds and related vehicles, ensuring full compliance with fund documentation, legal and regulatory requirements, and applicable accounting standards. The successful candidate will ensure service delivery aligns with client SLAs and all operational policies and procedures.
Job Duties:
- Prepare fund valuations and financial statements in accordance with IFRS, UK GAAP, or US GAAP
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to clients as per SLA requirements
- Review and reconcile accounting records, including investor drawdowns, distributions, accruals, and capital statements
- Assist with audit processes, including preparation of supporting documentation and liaising with auditors
- Collaborate with Investor Relations and Fund Administration teams to ensure accurate investor reporting
- Conduct cash management, reconciliations, and transaction processing
- Support the implementation and refinement of internal controls and procedures
- Assist in onboarding new clients, including reviewing fund documentation and setting up reporting templates
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, auditors, and tax advisors
- Contribute to process improvements and participate in projects as required
Job Requirements:
- ACCA qualified or equivalent accounting qualification
- Minimum of 3 years’ fund accounting experience, or experience in audit (Big 4 background preferred)
- Strong understanding of private equity fund structures and accounting requirements
- Knowledge of accounting standards applicable to private capital funds (e.g. IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP)
- Strong Excel and financial systems skills
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs under pressure
- Confident communicator with a collaborative approach to teamwork
