Our client is seeking a Financial Controller to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role will be responsible for managing accounting records and preparing financial and management reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. You will oversee key accounting functions and ensure accurate and timely reporting, supporting both financial control and business decision-making.
Job Duties:
- Oversee group trust accounting and reporting to deliver high-quality service to senior management
- Plan and prioritise financial report preparation to meet all internal and external deadlines
- Manage the billing process to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Support the control of debtor balances
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management reports
- Assist in the preparation of the annual financial budget
- Liaise with auditors to facilitate the audit process efficiently
- Maintain a strong technical understanding of key systems including Microsoft Excel, Navision, SAP, Adaptive Insights, and Worksite
- Address accounting issues and provide solutions to problems as they arise
- Participate in and manage special finance projects as required
- Provide financial accounting and reporting support to the Group Trust Finance function
Job Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of computerised accounting systems
- Proven experience in preparing accurate financial reports and statements
- Good communication, organisational, and presentation skills
- Understanding of the regulatory environment in Guernsey
- Solid knowledge of accrual and prepayment accounting concepts
- Competence in ledger management, including understanding of debits and credits
