Our client is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their finance department. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the preparation of both monthly and annual financial statements. As a part of a dynamic team, you'll be instrumental in ensuring that all financial accounting elements are thoroughly managed and compliant with regulations, contributing to the overall success of the airline.
Main Duties:
- Oversee all financial accounting elements, including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cashbook, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and perform periodic reconciliations.
- Authorise bank payments as part of an approving team.
- Conduct regular balance sheet reconciliations and take action on inconsistencies.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly accounts and annual financial statements.
- Develop and document processes to strengthen internal controls.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports as required.
- Support trainee accountant position(s) through day-to-day mentorship.
Job Requirements:
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant, actively studying for ACA, ACMA, ACCA, or an equivalent qualification.
- Strong track record in financial accounting, from trial balance through to audited financial statements.
- Excellent IT skills; proficiency in accounting software such as SAGE or similar, and Microsoft packages.
- High numeracy skills and ability to work with confidential information.
- Strong organisational and time management capabilities.
- Experience supervising staff is a key requirement.
