Director of Tax, Compliance & Reporting Services

Our client is seeking a Director of Tax, Compliance & Reporting Services to lead the tax compliance and reporting functions across multiple jurisdictions. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the group's client entity tax reporting functions, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax obligations in alignment with regulatory frameworks. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for collaborating with senior management and providing guidance to a talented team, whilst fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.

Job Duties:

  • Set goals for the tax function that align with the overall Group strategy, maintaining the highest quality support.
  • Collaborate with Directors and Relationship Partners to establish fees for tax compliance and reporting, ensuring profitability.
  • Provide practical theoretical and technical tax expertise to successfully deliver the tax function and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of annual tax returns and compliance for UK, Guernsey, Jersey, IOM, and BVI entities, including VAT and ATED.
  • Manage tax audits and inquiries, acting as the engaged agent to mitigate financial and reputational risks.
  • Lead and develop the tax team, offering guidance and support for high performance.
  • Provide tax training and support to wider staff, ensuring awareness of legislative changes.
  • Foster internal collaboration to provide tax-related support for business operations and transactions.
  • Develop and implement internal tax policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on tax legislation changes, recommending process improvements as necessary.

Job Requirements:

  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent experience.
  • Professional qualification such as CTA is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years’ progressive experience in tax compliance, including leadership experience.
  • Essential experience with UK company and trust tax.
  • Ability to engage and present complex information to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with a focus on organisational culture and values.
  • Deep knowledge of policies, procedures, regulations, and legislation in the tax compliance area.
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with an ability to handle multiple workstreams under tight deadlines.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with attention to detail in preparing and reviewing tax documents.
