Our client is seeking an accomplished Assistant Manager Accountant to support their Fund & Corporate Services team. This role is integral to delivering expert accounting and reporting services to a diverse portfolio of corporate and fund clients. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day fund and corporate accounting duties, ensuring compliance with IFRS and UK GAAP. This full-time position demands a self-motivated individual who can thrive under pressure and work independently.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for the day-to-day Fund & Corporate Accounting activities.
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly management accounts as well as annual statutory accounts.
- Attend Board Meetings to present quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Ensure all M&A and LPA client deadlines are met.
- Prepare and/or review monthly valuations, reconciliations of fund drawdowns and distributions.
- Prepare and/or review Fund investor capital statements as required.
- Lead and manage the audit process, maintaining audit files and liaising with auditors.
- Serve as the day-to-day contact for clients and other external parties.
- Review all quarterly or annual financial statements in line with UK GAAP and/or IFRS or other relevant accounting standards.
- Manage and supervise junior team members, including their KPIs and workload.
- Assist in the onboarding of new clients and transactional work as directed.
- Efficiently manage workload, driving more effective processes and meeting budget targets.
- Coach, mentor, and supervise junior team members, including setting objectives and conducting periodic appraisals.
- Engage in ad hoc project work as directed by the Fund & Corporate Services Director.
Job Requirements:
- Professional approach with a strong team player mentality.
- Enthusiastic, with strong IT skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- A minimum of 6 years’ experience in a funds and/or corporate environment.
- Strong technical understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Ability to deliver on time under pressure.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with excellent prioritisation skills.
- Recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, CA, ACA).
- Experience in complex fund structures is essential.
- Real estate experience is desirable.
- Familiarity with Navision or Investran is a plus.
