Our client is seeking a highly skilled Insurance, Technical Specialist to join their Banking and Insurance Division. This full-time position plays a critical role in the supervision of licensed firms within the Bailiwick of Guernsey. The successful candidate will have a profound knowledge of the insurance industry, including capital rules and risk management practices. They will be integral in ensuring the Commission upholds its reputation for high-quality prudential regulation while enabling innovation. Job Duties:
- Ensure the Commission delivers exceptional prudential, financial crime, and conduct regulation.
- Protect and enhance the Bailiwick’s international financial services reputation.
- Deliver risk-based supervision and contribute to policy development.
- Assist in implementing the Commission's Balanced Scorecard to achieve business objectives.
- Engage in regulatory actions, including handling licenses, product applications, and compliance assessments.
- Conduct firm-specific visits and thematic reviews, identifying key issues to address with licensees.
- Monitor new and emerging risks affecting the insurance sector and prepare insightful briefings.
- Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, responding to complaints and inquiries.
- Represent the Commission at meetings and conduct training sessions for local businesses.
- Lead internal projects and initiatives, maintaining professional and technical knowledge through ongoing education.
Job Requirements:
- In-depth understanding of the insurance industry and related capital rules.
