Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Finance to lead their finance team and ensure the efficient management of financial operations. This pivotal role involves overseeing the production of financial reports, budgeting processes, and financial audits, while driving continual improvement across all finance functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a hands-on approach, and a commitment to delivering high-quality financial information that supports effective business decision-making.
Job Duties:
- Oversee the production of monthly management reporting, ensuring adherence to procedures and timetables.
- Provide effective supervision of the finance team to maintain accurate ledgers in a timely manner.
- Coordinate the annual budget, forecast, and tariff process, implementing process improvements as needed.
- Support the Chief Financial Officer in developing customer and product profitability reporting.
- Assist in ensuring the smooth execution of the annual statutory audit process and company tax submissions.
- Lead and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of continual improvement in their roles.
- Provide hands-on support to team members, ensuring continuity of service across key functions.
- Act as the focal point for all financial and management reporting requirements, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
- Maintain strong links with all directorates and budget holders to understand business needs.
- Work with the Chief Financial Officer to enhance internal business performance reporting.
- Participate in process improvements and the development of financial controls and systems.
- Assist in presenting reports to the Executive Team, Board Members, and external stakeholders.
- Support the delivery of both finance and non-finance led projects, deputising for the Chief Financial Officer when required.
- Oversee the HR Air Finance function, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Coordinate insurance renewals for optimal coverage.
- Contribute to the digitalisation of workflows and reporting within the business.
Job Requirements:
- A qualified accountant with post-qualification experience, preferably in a commercial setting.
- Demonstrable management experience leading finance teams.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage all levels of staff.
- Proven ability to lead by example, with integrity and professionalism.
- Extensive reporting and budgeting experience.
- Sound knowledge of internal controls and a proactive mindset.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Commercially astute, able to understand the broader business context.
- Results-driven with a capacity to thrive under pressure.
- Advanced IT skills with experience in automating financial processes.
