Temporary Accounts Payable & Expenses Administrator - 6 months

Our client currently has an opportunity available for a temporary Accounts Payable & Expenses Administrator within their Payments Team for a duration of six months. This role is ideal for an individual with strong administration skills who is keen to gain deeper insights into the Finance function and broaden their financial acumen. The position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop new skills, enhance financial knowledge, and contribute to a high-performing team while supporting future career progression. The successful candidate will assist the Accounts Payable team by ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, expense claims, and supplier payments within a robust financial control framework. The required responsibilities involve various tasks related to financial processing and monitoring adherence to authorisation protocols.

Job Duties:

  • Processing invoices, expenses, and credit card claims using iPOS
  • Monitoring authorisations against the Financial Authorisation Matrix (FAM) to process payment runs using SUN
  • Assisting with keying payments manually into various financial systems as required
  • Processing BACS runs using SUN/APT
  • Setting up new suppliers, brokers, and amendments using Sharper Light
  • Managing shared email inboxes to assist the team
  • Journalling any returned items or ad-hoc manual items daily to ensure no items are outstanding at month end
  • Checking the success of daily exchange rate reports and highlighting any failures

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year’s experience in either life assurance or a highly numeric role
  • Demonstrated high level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when working with figures
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • A proactive, positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn
  • Team player with strong collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft applications, especially Excel
  • Good organisational and planning skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Experience with iPOS, SUN, Sharper Light, or similar software is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
