Corporate Client Services Officer

Our client is seeking to recruit an organised individual with a growth mindset to join their Guernsey-based team of experienced Client Services staff. This role is pivotal in supporting the business to achieve its continued delivery of excellent client service to Financial Intermediary clients with their day-to-day banking requirements. The successful candidate will be inquisitive, innovative, and keen to expand their skills to deliver an exceptional client experience, particularly in general banking and execution-only custody services. Responsibilities include challenging current processes and procedures, suggesting improvements, and maintaining necessary controls. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth, as the candidate will actively engage with clients while contributing to service reviews and identifying trends or training needs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with numerous stakeholders, thus enhancing both individual and team performance.

Job Duties:

  • Provide day-to-day support for the Bank's Financial Intermediary clients, including preparation and approval of custody instructions.
  • Maintain a full understanding of custody dealing related to equities, bonds, and mutual funds/unit trusts.
  • Manage the business's Financial Intermediary Online Users and assist clients in using online banking services.
  • Prepare and approve manual, fax, and online payments, including foreign exchange transactions.
  • Monitor fixed deposits and take appropriate actions as necessary.
  • Support Business Developers with client engagement and entertainment as required.
  • Assist with ongoing service reviews, monitor outputs to identify trends, training needs, or successes, and provide feedback to relevant business heads.
  • Handle daily telephone and email queries from clients and manage client communication via various channels.
  • Open additional sub-accounts for existing clients and ensure client records are updated consistently.
  • Undertake ad hoc tasks and own related projects as required, offering input and support for initiatives influenced by regulatory changes.
  • Identify trends in deposit flows from the Financial Intermediary client base and raise issues with the relevant business development team member.
  • Continuously drive ideas for improving client service delivery.
  • Work with other teams within the Bank to promote online and corporate swift capabilities, enhancing client usage.
  • Provide input on design and testing support for new online banking releases and assist Operations teams with relevant queries.
  • Identify sales opportunities within the Financial Intermediary client base and refer them to the appropriate department.

  • Knowledge or awareness of the Financial Intermediaries market in Guernsey, Jersey, the Isle of Man, and Geneva.
  • Excellent understanding of safe custody and banking/payment systems.
  • Knowledge of account opening, customer due diligence, and risk review/assessment processes.
