Fund Accountant

This role presents an exciting opportunity for a driven and talented individual to join a dedicated and professional team as a Fund Accountant, available in both full-time and part-time capacities. It involves providing essential accounting and financial reporting services for established and new real estate and private equity funds, as well as special purpose vehicles. The role requires familiarity with organisational policies and procedures and a strong understanding of client activities, structures, and material agreements. The Fund Accountant will work diligently to develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients and external parties. They will actively monitor client communications, prioritising tasks as needed, and will work effectively with senior leaders to ensure smooth transitions for new business. Additionally, this position entails overseeing junior team members' workloads while providing regular coaching. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports, interim management accounts, and supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and statutory deadlines.

Job Duties:

  • Understand the organisation's policies and procedures
  • Gain insights into client activities, structures, and agreements
  • Build and maintain long-lasting relationships with clients and external parties
  • Monitor client mailboxes and prioritise tasks for completion
  • Assist senior leaders with business transitions and onboarding of new clients
  • Manage junior team members' workloads and provide coaching
  • Oversee the preparation of financial reports at the asset and fund level
  • Compile and analyse financial information for financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory reporting deadlines
  • Prepare and review interim management accounts, financial statements, and consolidations
  • Prepare and review bank debt covenant reporting, NAVs, VAT reporting, and cashflow forecasting
  • Prepare investor capital account statements and fund-level reporting
  • Plan year-end audits, collating and reviewing audit files while liaising with relevant parties
  • Prepare and review distribution and drawdown calculations and notices
  • Complete any additional ad-hoc duties as requested

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in fund accounting or audit, focusing on private equity and real estate funds
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and relevant accounting standards
  • Commercially minded with a capacity for providing technical and operational solutions
  • Partially or fully qualified in ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
