Client Accounting Assistant

Our client, a leading independent provider of high-quality fiduciary and corporate services based in Guernsey, is seeking a Client Accounting Assistant to join their accounting team. With over five decades of experience and a strong commitment to client service. The successful candidate will play a key role in assisting with accounts administration and bookkeeping for a range of Trusts and managed companies. This position requires accurate and timely administration of financial records, as well as effective interaction with various teams within the organisation. The role will contribute to the preparation of management information and reports for committees and regulatory returns. This is a full-time position where adherence to accounting and finance-related policies and procedures is essential.

Job Duties:

  • Posting of purchases, sales, dividends, corporate actions, ERI, and accumulation dividends of investment portfolios.
  • Accurate and timely saving of statements and advices.
  • Posting of property letting statements.
  • Conducting bank and portfolio reconciliations.
  • Utilising Excel up to simple formula stage.
  • Assisting with management information preparation by interrogating the Group’s accounting systems.
  • Identifying areas of non-compliance or weakness and breaches as required.
  • Interacting with Client Services and other teams.
  • Adhering to processes and associated checklists related to accounting and finance.

Job Requirements:

  • Circa 3 years’ experience in a bookkeeping or accounting administration role, ideally within a Trust or financial services environment.
  • A team player with strong communication skills.
  • Analytically minded with a proven ability to problem solve.
  • Proactive and responsive to colleagues, clients, and new business enquiries.
  • Open to developing new initiatives and improving client experiences.
  • Professionally qualified or willing to undertake relevant studies.
  • Effective use of technology to develop and evolve policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to embrace development of relevant skills and knowledge through training and experience.
  • Motivated to deliver efficient and effective services.
