Our client seeks a Group Finance Director to provide strategic and operational leadership to the Finance Division, significantly influencing the organisation's direction as a valuable member of the Board. The role encompasses developing long-term business strategies and translating these into measurable financial plans that promote sustainable growth. Responsibilities include full accountability for the Group’s Financial Control function, ensuring meticulous governance and compliance across all financial activities. The successful candidate will lead the preparation and continuous improvement of Monthly Management Accounts, Statutory Accounts, and the annual budgeting cycle, employing hands-on analyses to drive insights that inform decision-making. Additionally, the Director will spearhead ad-hoc financial projects, such as system improvements and investment appraisals. Job Duties:
- Oversee financial management, planning, systems, and controls of the organisation.
- Manage all Balance Sheet Control Account reconciliations and maintain the Group’s Fixed Asset Register.
- Lead the preparation, review, and continuous improvement of Monthly Management Accounts and internal controls.
- Act as a strategic business partner to Operations, providing insightful commercial support.
- Create and manage the annual budgeting and planning process for the organisation.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of monthly performance reporting.
- Prepare and manage the annual statutory financial statements.
- Oversee the Monthly Board Pack's preparation, ensuring clarity and strategic relevance.
- Review accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure all operational controls are effective and regularly reviewed.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and banks.
- Lead, manage, and develop the Finance Division, fostering high performance and accountability.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all financial outputs.
- Drive continuous development and training for the finance team.
- Manage and strengthen internal controls for operational robustness.
- Evaluate internal and external risks, driving strategic responses.
- Monitor and report on risks to the Board, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Critically review and improve business operations and policies to enhance organisational growth.
- Provide comprehensive management accounting services to the Board.
Job Requirements:
- Professionally qualified accountant with a minimum of 10 years' relevant experience.
- Demonstrated track record of performance and delivery of objectives in a professional and commercial environment.
- Highly numerate with a comprehensive understanding of accounting, taxation, and regulatory issues.
- Visionary capable of supporting the strategic direction of the business with innovative problem-solving.
