Bookkeeper

Our client is looking for a Bookkeeper to join their Finance Team, providing vital bookkeeping support for a diverse range of client accounts. This role is essential in ensuring adherence to established policies, procedures, and relevant accounting standards, while also observing confidentiality in all company matters. The successful candidate will have ample opportunities for career growth and the enhancement of their skills within a professional setting. Key responsibilities include the accurate and timely processing of bookkeeping transactions, managing postings to the Acumen accounting system, and reconciling both debtors and creditors ledgers. Furthermore, the Bookkeeper will maintain investment schedules, assist with documenting policies for complex financial issues, and produce letters in response to various queries. A systematic approach to filing and maintaining financial records will also be required, alongside the provision of ad hoc support to the department Manager/Director as necessary.

Job Duties:

  • Manage the bookkeeping function for a variety of client accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Process all relevant bookkeeping entries within the Acumen accounting system.
  • Reconcile and manage debtors and creditors ledgers effectively.
  • Maintain investment schedules, including FX trades and property deals.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of policy documentation for complex financial matters.
  • Produce correspondence in response to client inquiries and instructions.
  • Maintain an accurate trail of supporting documentation for all bookkeeping activities.
  • Establish and manage a systematic filing system for bookkeeping and financial records.
  • Provide support to the department Manager/Director with additional tasks as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in an accounting environment, particularly in bookkeeping, is advantageous; however, training will be provided.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines, ensuring accuracy in documentation at all times.
  • Strong organisational skills to handle high volumes of work while maintaining professionalism.
  • A high level of confidentiality is required in all aspects of the role.
  • Proficient in office software systems, with a working knowledge of Acumen being desirable (training available if necessary).
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to build professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
