Our client is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to support the development and implementation of their strategic business plan. This role focuses on delivering an efficient and compliant accounting service to clients. The successful candidate will prepare and issue invoices based on information from the HR and Payroll team, update yacht Accounts Receivable ledgers, and assist in the preparation of monthly and annual management accounts. They will also prepare and post accruals and prepayments while processing receipts in accordance with compliance procedures. Daily bank reconciliations, regular interaction with HR and Payroll, and liaising with senior colleagues and an international team are crucial aspects of this role. Furthermore, the Assistant Management Accountant will input and support the budgeting process and ensure compliance with Guernsey Data Protection Law or equivalent regulations. The individual will be required to prepare reports for quarterly Board Meetings and act as a point of contact for yacht invoicing and account-related matters.
Job Duties:
- Prepare and issue invoices based on information provided by the HR and Payroll team
- Update yacht Accounts Receivable ledgers
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual management accounts
- Prepare and post accruals and prepayments
- Process receipts in accordance with compliance procedures
- Conduct daily bank reconciliations
- Regularly interact with HR and Payroll
- Liaise directly with senior colleagues and an international team
- Input and support the budgeting process
- Assist HR and Payroll with accounting requirements
- Consistently apply accounting best practices
- Conduct ad hoc reporting as needed
- Maintain adherence to data protection regulations
- Investigate and address data breaches, producing corrective action reports when necessary
- Prepare and present reports for quarterly Board Meetings and other stakeholders
- Act as a point of contact for yacht invoicing and account-related matters
- Liaise with relevant government agencies and authorities as appropriate
- Collaborate with the Head of Finance and Management Accountant on departmental objectives and resource allocation
- Respond to legal correspondence and queries in a timely and accurate manner
- Support the company’s emergency response system and other operational requirements
- Undertake additional duties as required by the Operations Director
Job Requirements:
- At least 2-3 years’ experience within a finance function
- AAT / ACA / CIMA part-qualified or equivalent is desirable
- Experience in taking accounts up to trial balance, posting prepayments and accruals
- Previous use of Sage X3 is highly desirable
- Ability to prioritise, work independently, and under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate across all levels of the business
- Experience in the maritime, superyacht, or offshore industries is desirable
- Experience implementing process improvements and change management initiatives
