Senior Tax Manager

Our client is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to work closely with the Tax Director in developing the Tax Department and enhancing their client base. This role involves supporting a diverse range of clients, inclusive of Channel Island, UK and international corporates, private clients, and entrepreneurs. On a daily basis, the Senior Tax Manager will provide advice on tax structuring, including inward investment into the UK and Europe, and undertake ad-hoc advisory assignments, compliance services, and assist the audit department in the audit of tax. The position also calls for an active contribution to business development, identifying and nurturing new business opportunities with existing clients and potential prospects. The Senior Tax Manager will be expected to manage their own tasks proactively while collaborating effectively with peers, Directors, and staff to serve clients skillfully. Job Duties:

  • Manage multiple clients and client engagements, from onboarding to completion, reporting to the Tax Director.
  • Support the Tax Director with business development and the identification of new opportunities.
  • Work with the team to develop efficiencies and innovate service delivery.
  • Collaborate across practice areas to enhance combined service propositions.
  • Support internal training and development initiatives.
  • Contribute to the firm’s growth strategies.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in coaching and developing staff.
  • Extensive Jersey income tax experience; UK corporation tax experience desirable but not essential.
  • Experience managing client portfolios, including control of client take-ons, engagement, billings, and cash collection.
  • CTA and/or ACA qualified (or equivalent) with demonstrated post-qualification experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge in taxation.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and engagements concurrently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective delegation skills, with the ability to coach and mentor team members.
  • Innovative mindset and openness to new ways of working.
