Contract Senior Manager, Innovation Hub - 12 months

This role is a 12-month fixed term contract, requiring a commitment of 35 hours per week. The purpose of the Temp Senior Manager position is to define and implement the external-facing operating model and proposition of the Innovation Hub. This role is responsible for leading the delivery of the Hub's activities and serves as the line manager for the Adviser within the Hub. Key duties include managing the work programme encompassing horizon scanning and sandbox-style engagement, ensuring high-quality outputs and engagement with external stakeholders. The Senior Manager will be instrumental in developing strategies that position the Hub as a pillar of innovation within the financial services sector. Strong collaboration with various teams will be essential to ensure the successful delivery of the Hub’s objectives and alignment with regulatory frameworks.

Job Duties:

  • Define and implement a clear strategy and operating model for the Innovation Hub.
  • Lead and manage the Hub’s work programme, ensuring timely delivery of activities and outputs.
  • Provide day-to-day line management for the Adviser, including coaching and developing their skills.
  • Foster strong external relationships with innovative firms and ecosystem partners to enhance Jersey’s innovation landscape.
  • Conduct horizon scanning and produce concise briefings for senior leadership on emerging technologies and market trends.
  • Ensure effective coordination and communication across various teams to support operational requirements.
  • Design and implement a practical sandbox-style engagement pathway.
  • Deliver a quarterly external engagement plan including events, workshops, and policy discussions, ensuring positive feedback from stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of innovation within financial services and the associated regulatory context.
  • Excellent people leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to engage with firms and communicate complex regulatory concepts clearly.
  • Experience in leading multiple workstreams and coordinating contributions from various teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-quality outputs within tight deadlines.
  • A proactive mindset towards innovation and regulatory challenges in financial services.
