This role requires a Buyers Admin Assistant who will be instrumental in the buying process within a dynamic Buying team. The position is office-based at the Head Office in Guernsey and offers a contract of 30 to 40 hours per week, available in both full-time and part-time capacities, with an immediate start date. The successful candidate will play a vital role in product development, critical path management, and range building. This is a fast-paced, detail-driven position where creativity, organisational skills, and a keen eye for trends are crucial. Key responsibilities include managing multiple priorities, supporting the Buyer, and engaging in administrative tasks across the buying cycle. Job Duties:
- Support the Buyer in managing the critical path, tracking timelines, highlighting delays, and suggesting solutions in weekly meetings
- Assist with quality, fit, and delivery issues, proposing resolutions and following up with suppliers
- Provide administrative support across all aspects of the buying process
- Actively assist in range building through trend research, sales analysis, and competitor benchmarking
- Manage samples, ensuring they are organised, accessible, and archived as necessary
- Attend and contribute to fit sessions, ensuring garments meet expectations and align with the delivery schedule
- Maintain the visual range planner with up-to-date product information
- Confidently deputise for the Buyer during periods of absence
- Respond to store product queries promptly and professionally
- Send out tech packs and assist in creating them for cross-costing purposes
- Approve trims, lap dips, strike-offs, and bulk standards when required
- Ensure all packaging and labelling meets brand and legal standards
- Monitor new-in categories weekly, supporting the Buyer with weekly trade actions
Job Requirements:
- Early in career as a school leaver or graduate, or seeking a career change from diverse backgrounds
- Strong time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills and natural ability to build relationships at all levels
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to change
- Detail-oriented, particularly regarding product quality, data, and processes
