Communications and Engagement Officer

The Communications and Engagement Officer position is a permanent, full-time role that entails supporting the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager in the creation and implementation of a comprehensive stakeholder engagement and communications strategy. This critical position is situated within a pivotal phase of the organisation's evolution, as it strives to enhance its contribution to Jersey’s continued reputation as a prestigious international financial centre. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering positive relationships with stakeholders while managing the engagement register to ensure transparency of interactions. Additionally, this position involves drafting timely and impactful reports and briefings that inform leadership decisions and elevate organisational awareness on key matters. The individual will conduct bespoke research projects aligned with broader division objectives and assist in the delivery of essential external communications to improve stakeholder perception and understanding of the organisation's mission.

Job Duties:

  • Support the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager in executing a national and international engagement strategy that promotes Jersey as a competitive financial centre.
  • Maintain the engagement register, ensuring accurate documentation of stakeholder interactions and their outcomes.
  • Produce high-quality, timely reports and briefings that provide insights to support senior leadership and enhance organisational awareness.
  • Contribute to bespoke research projects aligned with broader objectives of the division and the organisation's key priorities.
  • Assist the marketing and communications team in delivering key external documents for stakeholders, such as the annual report.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey information persuasively and succinctly across a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proven copywriting skills and experience in a relevant discipline, such as public relations, communications, marketing, or business development.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team, maintaining a focused and analytical approach to tasks.
  • Desirable knowledge of the financial services industry and a working awareness of the local legal and regulatory framework.
