Senior Test Analyst

In this role as a Senior Test Analyst, the individual will be responsible for planning and managing the testing of key business-as-usual (BAU) workstreams and projects. This position involves coordinating with external vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure that releases are executed smoothly and delivered on schedule. The role offers an exciting opportunity to gain practical experience in software testing while developing leadership, technical, and analytical skills. Key responsibilities include designing and executing functional and regression tests to ensure comprehensive coverage and quality. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with change teams, development, and the business to align testing efforts with business and project objectives. Additionally, they will identify, plan, and implement test approaches, all while adhering to departmental standards and release deadlines. The ability to monitor and report on test results and maintain accurate documentation for audit and governance purposes will be crucial. A commitment to continuous learning in automation technology will also be expected.

Job Duties:

  • Design and execute functional and regression tests that ensure comprehensive coverage and quality.
  • Collaborate with change teams (BA/PM), development, and the business, to align testing with business and project objectives.
  • Identify, plan, and implement the test approach across BAU and project workstreams.
  • Monitor estimates against actuals, escalate potential slippage, and provide workable options for mitigation.
  • Monitor and report on test results, creating and maintaining reporting dashboards, and producing completion reports for stakeholder approval.
  • Adhere to testing strategy, processes, and procedures to facilitate governance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and artefacts for audit and governance purposes.
  • Design and maintain reusable regression tests following internal standards, supporting test execution where needed.
  • Develop personal knowledge of automation technology and practices, promoting a shift-left/automation first approach.
  • Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Business Verification Testing (BVT) activities.
  • Manage performance, provide training, and support direct reports.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent understanding of testing principles, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering to tight deadlines.
  • Experience using Gherkin syntax for test case design.
  • ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing.
  • A minimum of 3 years of testing experience.
  • Experience in the Finance domain, and Life & Pensions in particular, is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with test automation is an advantage.
  • Experience in people management is beneficial, although training will be provided to the right candidate.
