Associate Director, Finance

This role calls for an experienced finance professional with extensive technical knowledge within the Internal Finance arena. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years in a senior management position. The primary responsibility will be to assist in preparing, controlling, and reporting on the financial performance of the trust group, which includes the preparation of consolidated monthly reporting, annual budgets, and financial targets to be included in strategic business plans. The position offers the opportunity to work in a friendly and progressive environment while undertaking a broad range of duties. Key tasks include providing strategic oversight, supporting and developing team members, monitoring workflow, and leading improvements to processes and systems. The role also involves collaborating with colleagues on budgetary processes and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards while maintaining robust governance across the Finance team.

Job Duties:

  • Provide strategic oversight of the Finance function to deliver high-quality outputs and consistency of standards
  • Act as the escalation point for complex technical, operational, and client-related matters
  • Lead, support, and develop the Finance Manager and Assistant Managers, driving a high-performance culture
  • Monitor workflow, capacity, and utilisation across the team, ensuring effective allocation of work
  • Identify inefficiencies and lead improvements to processes, systems, and controls
  • Collaborate with relevant colleagues on the budgetary process and monitor performance against targets
  • Provide guidance on complex accounting and financial matters while ensuring adherence to relevant standards
  • Maintain oversight of regulatory developments and ensure appropriate implementation within the team
  • Ensure robust controls and governance are in place to support audits and regulatory reviews
  • Support the senior management team in shaping the future direction of the Finance function

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive technical knowledge and demonstrated ability within the internal finance arena
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior management position
  • Successful attainment of ACA/ACCA qualification (or equivalent) along with meeting CPD requirements
  • Excellent communication skills to converse with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Ability to produce, review, and understand complex documentation with acute attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated critical analysis skills to enable review of existing processes and procedures
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines and project plans without direction
  • Strong leadership skills demonstrating the ability to understand, inspire, and develop others
  • Commitment to compliance with the firm's Information Security Policy
