Customer Service Executive

Job Overview:

This role involves joining a Client Service team as the primary contact point for clients’ daily banking requirements. The incumbent will deliver effective service while focusing on process efficiency. Responsibilities include assisting in the day-to-day servicing of existing clients and communicating with them to resolve queries and follow-up on instructions received. The role involves assisting with the new client onboarding process, including credit card applications, and taking clients through the application process during face-to-face meetings. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and executing client instructions in a timely manner, handling payments, security trades, foreign exchanges, and fixed deposits. They will assist clients with their online banking set-up and activation, as well as identifying opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell the bank's products and services. The individual will work closely with the Local Banking team and Relationship Managers to convert leads effectively and will contribute positively towards achieving the bank’s financial targets.

Job Duties:

  • Assist in the day-to-day servicing of existing clients
  • Communicate with clients to resolve queries and execute call-backs regarding instructions received
  • Assist with the new client onboarding process, including credit cards
  • Guide clients through the application process during face-to-face meetings
  • Receive and execute client instructions in a timely manner (payments, security trades, foreign exchanges, fixed deposits)
  • Provide assistance with online banking set-up, activation, and related queries
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell the bank's products and services
  • Coordinate positively across departments to deliver a highly effective service for clients
  • Provide assistance to other team members during busy periods
  • Occasionally travel to the Guernsey office for training and team cover purposes
  • Assist with projects and large-scale system tasks as they arise
  • Ensure completion of all relevant training within specified deadlines
  • Attend events to promote the bank’s products and services
  • Adhere to the bank’s policies and procedures and understand regulatory obligations

Job Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Keen interest in banking and learning about products/services
  • Passion for delivering an excellent customer experience
  • Strong problem-solving, organisation, and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and a first-time right approach
  • Experience in any banking role (desirable but not required)
  • Strong awareness of IT skills
  • Pro-active approach to suggesting new ideas, innovations, and processes
