Head of Compliance

The Head of Compliance will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of regulatory compliance and financial crime risk management. This full-time position reports directly to the CEO and will include roles as Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO). The successful candidate will be the primary source of expertise regarding compliance matters, responsible for setting, assessing, and documenting the risk-based approach to managing financial crime across the organisation. This role will involve close collaboration with the Chief Risk Officer to provide second-line oversight on compliance and financial crime matters, ensuring that effective actions are taken in line with the organisation's risk appetite. The Head of Compliance will also guide senior management in recognizing risk drivers, thus enabling well-informed decision-making. This position represents an exceptional opportunity for a strategic compliance professional keen to enhance compliance frameworks while supporting the organisation’s growth.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of compliance frameworks to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Act as the principal liaison for compliance matters with external authorities and regulators.
  • Monitor changes in compliance legislation and provide strategic advice to senior management and the Board.
  • Lead regulatory audits and facilitate necessary stakeholder responses.
  • Establish training programs to enhance compliance knowledge among employees.
  • Assess and manage risks associated with financial crime and regulatory compliance.
  • Foster a culture of compliance throughout the organisation.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure effective implementation of compliance policies.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior compliance role, ideally with recent regulatory approval as a Compliance Officer, MLRO, or MLCO.
  • Strong technical and regulatory knowledge of compliance and financial crime risk management.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrable experience in stakeholder management and influencing at senior levels.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices and corporate governance standards.
