Trainee Commercial Broker (FT / PT)

An exciting opportunity has emerged for an ambitious individual to join an expanding Commercial Department as a Trainee / Commercial Broker. This role welcomes both full-time and part-time applicants, and comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided. While previous office experience is preferred, it is not essential for applicants. The trainee will play a crucial role in managing several monthly renewals, gathering updated information from clients, and assisting in the creation of risk presentations for insurers, while also learning to negotiate terms to align with client requirements. Responsibilities will also include supporting clients with mid-term adjustments, issuing documentation, and setting up policies. The candidate is expected to develop strong diary management skills and demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Presenting oneself confidently and making a positive impression on clients is vital, whether in or out of the office. Furthermore, the role requires the timely and accurate handling of instructions, with effective communication maintained through detailed reports and summaries.

Job Duties:

• Assist in managing a number of renewals each month.
• Gather up-to-date information from clients.
• Support the creation of risk presentations for insurers and learn to negotiate terms.
• Help clients with mid-term adjustments, issue documentation, and set up policies.
• Develop effective personal diary management skills.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain a confident and professional demeanor with clients.
• Ensure all instructions and requirements are handled promptly and accurately.
• Communicate effectively through reports and summaries, including making file notes.

Job Requirements:

• No prior experience necessary; full on-the-job training will be provided.
• Willingness to pursue relevant qualifications, such as Cert CII, is advantageous.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, both over the telephone and face-to-face.
• Ability to work on one’s own initiative.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Good administration and organisational skills.
• Customer service oriented.
• Proactive and positive attitude.
• Flexible and capable of working as part of a team.
