Real Estate Analyst

This role focuses on supporting lending transactions for property investors, developers, family offices, and high-net-worth clients across the Channel Islands and the UK. The Analyst will join the Offshore Client Real Estate team and play a critical part in analysing and structuring real estate lending opportunities, preparing credit papers, conducting due diligence, and assisting with the ongoing management of a portfolio of real estate loans. The position can be based in either Guernsey, Jersey, or London, requiring necessary travel between locations to engage with teams and clients effectively. This is a full-time role, operating over five days a week. The environment is people-centric, promoting collaboration in an office-based setting, where team interaction is highly valued. Job Duties:

  • Support the origination, structuring, and management of real estate loans.
  • Build debt cash flow, scenario, and sensitivity models, and conduct return/pricing analysis.
  • Prepare term sheets and credit papers for review by Originators, proposing structuring options.
  • Perform detailed analyses of new deals, including scrutiny of client quality and cash flow models.
  • Manage existing loan book and assist in annual reviews, drawdowns, loan extensions, and renegotiations.
  • Liaise with internal teams (Operations, Valuers, Legal Counsel) and external partners to manage the portfolio.
  • Attend client meetings and prepare credit applications for presentation to relevant forums.
  • Support post-credit legal, valuation, and due diligence processes.
  • Enhance workflow through the use of templates, AI, and technology tools.
  • Assist in completing project work for the Offshore Real Estate team.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong financial and quantitative modelling skills, including experience in building debt cash flow models.
  • Practical fluency with technology and AI tools, including automation within lending processes.
  • Ability to turn data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Understanding of valuation principles and key terms in real estate finance transactions.
  • Competence in performing financial analysis and identifying business risks.
  • High level of numeracy, attention to detail, and strong organisational skills.
  • Proactive attitude with ability to deliver against tight deadlines.
  • Excellent relationship and communication skills for effective internal and external collaboration.
  • Knowledge of the property market, with experience in property investment or development lending as a plus.
  • Familiarity with real estate procedures, including credit and drawdown matters.
  • Commitment to integrity and treating customers fairly.
